Apple Orchard

Monday the St. Joe Kindergarten and Pre-K classes took a field trip to Wray's Fruit Farm in Clay City. It was quick and almost painless (at least for the adults!). The kids were shown where the apples grow ... on the bare trees because the farm had picked the apples the week before. The kids did get to pick one Golden Delicious apple from a box and one Red Delicious apple from a bag. And let me tell ya ... there wasn't any sneaking! The "tour" was interesting.

Next the bus was loaded and took the kids to a park in Clay City where they had a snack and got to play around for a while. Then they loaded back up and headed back to school for lunch.

I rode with Brandy and our way home we went to see a HUGE tree that my sister had shown me over the summer. It is monsterous! It's branches are as big as normal sized trees. It is near Wray's. Chloe got a kick out of it. "It's big," she said. "Why did someone plant a big tree?" Maybe we should ask God.
