Addisen had bumped her left thumb on the table while we were in Kansas visiting at Mark and Ann's. It was one of those things like stubbing your toe or hitting your funny bone. No big deal. The next day it seemed to be more tender and she was complaining of it hurting throughout the day. We were thinking it was because she chews her nails down so low and the thumb was extra sensitive. So we thought. : ( So I'll bring you up to speed.
Saturday 1/15...thumb is sore
Sunday 1/16...thumb starting to throb and hold heat
Monday 1/17...a small spot formed at tip of thumb by nail (I began to worry.)
Tuesday 1/18...sent home from school-very sensitive, Doctor visit
Thursday 1/20...Doctor visit to have it drained-culture taken
Monday 1/24...nurse called...positive for MRSA. (my heart breaks)
Why? Why does this have to happen? My three bouts with MRSA were SO horribly painful. Now my daughter has to suffer through this? My heart truly aches. It's one of those times that you wish you could take away their pain and put it on yourself. If only it were possible.
So, we are to continue on the antibiotic (Bactrim) and keep doing what we're doing. Which means soaking it twice a day and keeping it wrapped. Wrapping it was a complete nightmare. But as it heals it is getting somewhat easier. She is more cooperative. Keeping it covered is the main thing so that we do not spread it.
Please pray that this is a one time deal for her. And that this is the last battle with this nasty infection that our family will have to suffer through. THANK YOU so much for the prayers, thoughts and well wishes you've already sent up!!

Oh my...poor girl! What a deal...we're thinking of you all.
Poor baby! We're thinking of you guys.
Bless her heart! Thinking of you guys!
I am sure it is hard to see her in pain and know what she is going through since you have been through it yourself. It will be okay she is on a strong antibotic and has the love of her mommy and daddy and family and friends. If you need anything you know where we are:) Love you long time!
